2021 was a hard year for everyone.
I could go on and on about all the doom and gloom and bad things, but they are in the past now and it's time for some fun!
I always love January 1st, clean and new, ready to be filled with wonderful new experiences. Promises of time spent with family and friends, new things to find and create, new people to meet. This year especially, I intend to find the sparkle in living, focusing on things that really matter to me.
My intentions at the end of 2021 was to fill my etsy shop with all the lovely things I had made. That had to be put on the back burner while I supported other aspects of life and the people I care about that needed me. One day Positive Poppy appeared when I was trying to take some photos of my Cat guardian oracle cards. Her sweet smile reminded me that everything happens for a reason and maybe the timing wasn't right anyway. See the joy in your day and enjoy the positive side of life. So I just enjoyed the few minutes I had taking a few photos and thinking about how lucky I am to be able to do that simple process. I was grateful for all I have and the freedom to be myself.
The Cat guardian oracle was born during the summer as I doodled in my art journal on holiday. They started out as cartoon women that I called my travelling companions, with words of wisdom to guide me. They slowly evolved into daily guardians in a feline form. These little cats with their different personalities and strengths became daily best friends. I love how an idea starts off as one thing then grows into something else! The beauty of creativity. When I returned home I slowly turned these doodles into artwork that could be printed by myself and turned into oracle cards, that I finish by hand, complete with a little guide book and handmade felt pouch. I cant describe my delight when I sold my first deck a couple of weeks ago!
We will be celebrating on January 1st with our family and friends with a little get together at our daughter's house because we couldn't see our grandson over Christmas due to him having to isolate (new swear word in our house!) We will be hugging and laughing and eating and drinking and making the most of time with our favourite humans. I hope that you will be having as much fun as us as we welcome in 2022!
